I’m excited to let you know that I’m collaborating with Jo Westfoot from The Crafty Nomad this month. I’ve recorded an online video class for her Quilt Hive Academy. My class is called Kaleidoscope EPP Stars and in it I teach you how to manipulate the pattern in the fabric to create stunning English Paper Pieced Stars. This is a technique that I’m particularly well known for, having used it in a number of commissions for Liberty. In the class you’ll learn: What characteristics to look for in a fabric to create a kaleidoscope effect How to use viewfinder templates to select sections of fabric to fussy cut How to fussy cut using the diamond templates How to baste the EPP diamonds and how to form the star shape and assemble the stars into a panel for a table runner If you don't fancy making the table runner, I’ve also included instructions in the workbook for how to use the technique to make a Christmas decoration. The perfect size if you just want to try the technique. Sound fun? Want to take the class? Anyone who becomes a member of Quilt Hive can take the class. Quilt Hive is an amazing membership that is full of pre-recorded patchwork and quilting technique video classes that members can take at any time whilst they are a member. There’s all sorts of topics in there, from EPP to FPP, Ruler Quilting to Inset Shapes, Trapunto to Improv Patchwork. So many fun techniques to learn. There’s even classes to help you perfect your finish. Each month there is a live Zoom session too with sew togethers, Q&A, Show & Tell, and Guest Interviews. You can join monthly (£25 per month), quarterly (£57 every 3 months), or annually (£180 each year). So if you just want to join for one month and try it then you absolutely can. You can cancel at any time. It is packed with value.
